Product Updates - July 2007 - Planned Upgrades
A number of new features are also in the pipeline for development and release. These include:
Content Locking
Editing an article will mark it as locked. Others will have to 'unlock' the article to edit it once it's being changed. This will prevent two people editing the same article at the same time.
Member Manager new features
-
Implementation of a 'Thanks' page for post-payments.
-
Better integration of receipt numbers (from SecurePay etc.) for reconciliation.
-
Implementation of a more flexible GST-aware application that allows GST functionality to be disabled if necessary.
Internationalisation
Aplinx sites already support non-English languages. We will begin moving towards being able to, via the interface, having multiple language versions of the same articles.
Improved Mobile Support
Currently sites automatically have images, templates etc stripped out and revert to plain-text mode when a mobile device is detected. This is fine for most sites (the menu isn't quite right yet) but for some sites you might want to specifically format how the page looks, how the navigation works etc.
We'll be attempting to begin this implementation asap.
Aplinx 2
We'll also begin to replace certain areas of the current Aplinx with newer 'Aplinx 2' features. We'll be implementing a few wide-impacting changes in the next few weeks as well as a few major interface changes which will run initially in tandem before being rolled out live.
We're making these changes direct to the current PHP edition of Aplinx to ensure seamless migration to Java when we move to it.
